There have been a lot of new readers who joined more recently, and I’d like to take a moment to appreciate everyone who has subscribed so far—thank you!
I’m away this week, but thought I’d share some of the most read articles on Seeking Balance since starting out towards the end of last year.
As newer readers may have missed out on some of these, feel free to take a look, comment, and share!
1. A Take on ‘Coffee Can Investing’
A “buy and hold” strategy that some investors may be doing without even realizing it (like me!), when combined with dollar-cost averaging, can be a very effective combination.
2. Generative AI: A Paradigm Shift in the Making?
At some point, AI will be discussed ad nauseam, and people will inevitably tire of it, but I do really think we may be on the precipice of change, not too different from when Apple ushered in the smartphone era.
3. 2022 in Review: Consumer Habits are Hard to Break
It was worrying to see how saving, debt and consumption in the US had played out in 2022. It appears that much of this trend has unfortunately continued into 2023 as well.
4. A World of Subscriptions
The coveted subscription business model may just be under attack while we continue to weather economically uncertain times. This doesn’t mean it’s going anywhere, but rather, a reality check for the business community that it doesn't work everywhere.
5. Remote Work: ‘New Normal’ or ‘Back to Normal’?
This one has been interesting to watch. Recently, it feels more like “back to normal,” despite everything we have been through. Having said that, there does appear to be some change that will last, just perhaps not what we had hoped for.
Things will resume as normal next week.
See you in the next one!
